I had 4 amazing holidays ... and 3 of them were places that I would actually love to go back to ... so, yes please, can I re-do the last year!

On Day 2 I started off by visiting the assorted memorials at Hyde Park Corner ... British, Oz, NZ, and Indian.  They are really lovely, lifelike images, and interesting ideas to represent the specific countries, etc.

... Yep, I'm off to London early tomorrow for 5 days.

Three main reasons -
1)  To be at The Cenotaph on the 100th Anniversary of the end of WWI
2)  Museums, etc
3)  Meeting up with deborahw37 ... she has had to change her plans around to do that ... a wonderful friend ( Read more... )

And, then one week later I met up with Brenda at Killerton ... my local "house", but one I hadn't been to so far this year with the National Trust trips.

I said I owed you photos - well these are some that I took last week at Dunster Castle when I went there with my friend Christine. It was a really lovely day (and we managed to avoid the rain)

And so to the second country of my trip ... Austria.  I had been briefly to Salzburg back in 1981, as we were/are all fans of The Sound of Music.  However, weirdly, Mum always was sure we had been to Vienna, and nothing could change her mind ... so, Mum, 37 years later I managed to catch up with you ... 2 days in Vienna.

When we left Prague, we didn't travel directly to Vienna, but went out of our way to visit the town of Telc ... and it was well worth the detour.
